ODM Dance With President Ruto Will Go On, But It Has to Lead To Excellent Proposals for The Good Of All Kenyans

ODM–Kenya Kwanza Alliance Key to Forming Next Government, says Ruto

“If you organise ODM to be a strong party, I will organise UDA to be a strong party so that we can unite and form a government through mutual agreement,” Ruto told the crowd in Migori

He said the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), the President’s party, is strengthening its support base in preparation for the elections.

Speaking during the 5th Piny Luo Festival in Migori County, President Ruto said the flourishing of the country’s democracy depends on strong national political parties that unite Kenyans across the board.

“It is important as a nation that we have serious national parties that can be the institutions that underwrite the democracy of our nation,” he said.

The President said the alliance between Kenya Kwanza and ODM is anchored on national transformation of the country and politics called on Kenyans across political parties to unite and work together to drive the country’s agenda forward.

ODM Party Leader Oburu Oginga said ODM is fully in the broad-based government, pointing out the unity is anchored on a 10-point agenda.

He said ODM will work with the ruling coalition to form the government in 2027, explaining that this will give the party a greater stake in government.

The ODM party leader urged supporters to register as voters and rally behind the party’s vision.

“Please register as voters. If you are not a voter, you will not vote for the leader of your choice,” he said.

Let’s face the political situation as it is on the ground today. President Ruto and his UDA party have no choice but to work with ODM not just to stabilize his government today but to win resoundingly in the 2027 elections and as things look right now, they are rolling into that position with substantive structures and real work on the ground that is making Kenyans quite comfortable with the government of the day.

At the same time ODM would be crazy to just walk out of the so-called broad-based government and go parade themselves in Wamunyoro for lectures from Rigathi Gachagua and then start running around to funerals with Kalonzo Musyoka. Everybody in the country including the ODM leadership can see that reality in front of them and they are going to go with what is good for the country.

The important thing is for Kenyans to see on the ground real development to the communities and to the country coming from that alliance of ODM and UDA and that is when Kenyans will make their mind if it is a good option for them in 2027. That is why some of the practical things President Ruto and his team were involved in doing while in Migori this week are important and make a lot of sense.

And here is a summary of some of the projects President Ruto is working on with Migori Governor Gladys Wanga and other leaders in the region.

On Migingo Island, President Ruto said the government will use all means, including diplomacy, to ensure that Kenyans are not harassed by police from neighbouring countries.

At the same time, the President said the government is keen on correcting development injustice in Nyanza.

He said KSh45 billion has been earmarked for Migori to drive the county’s development, citing investment in rice production at the Kuja Irrigation Scheme to increase harvests.

“We have found an investor for the KSh1.2 billion project in a rice mill and related infrastructure,” he said.

The government has reformed and streamlined the sugar sector, the President pointed out, noting that it is now performing well.

He also said KSh1.7 billion has been set aside for road construction in Migori County to ease transportation of goods and services.

He said construction of the Masara-Muhuru Bay road will begin in January 2026.

Further, the President said KSh350 million has been made available for Muhuru Bay market, one of the 27 in the county.

On the blue economy, he said a fish landing bay and pier will be built in Muhuru Bay to unlock its economic potential.

To support the sector, President Ruto announced that the electricity connectivity budget has been increased from KSh1.9 billion to KSh2.4 billion.

A stadium, which is 30 per cent complete, is also being built in Migori at a cost of Sh900 million.

Later, President Ruto laid the foundation stone for student hostels at Rongo University, which will benefit more than 2,000 students. He said the government will build more hostels to accommodate 7,200 college students in the county.

The real challenge for President Ruto and the ODM leadership developing all these concrete plans on the ground is to complete the projects. Kenyans in those areas President Ruto is launching those construction plans and everybody else in the country are keenly looking to see what the results of those projects are on the ground in 2027.

This is the same for the whole country, and it is what is driving the opposition nuts. William Ruto must see to it that most of his projects are complete or nearly done by 2027 and that Kenyans are benefitting from those developments and he will be re-elected in 2027.

There is a reason the United Opposition are not yelling about “WANTAM” anymore. They know it makes no sense to Kenyans when they see what the Ruto government is doing on the ground and on the other hand look at a totally confused and clueless opposition which has nothing to offer for any development in the country.

Now the opposition is obsessed with Ruto trying to turn Kenya into Singapore and they say that is impossible. Maybe it is for them because as we can see the United Opposition is trying to turn Kenya into the new Somalia where your vote is for the clans and every clan have their own government in some little corner of Somalia fighting against the other clans.

Gachagua is working very hard on that plan and already he has ordered Kalonzo Musyoka to pick some few seats in Nairobi according to the number of Kambas from his village in the Nairobi City and the rest is for him and his tribe and they wonder why nobody is listening to them anymore.
