ODM Party Leader Dr. Oburu Odinga has dismissed attempts by a group of ODM leaders led by Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga pushing for the removal of PS Dr. Raymond Omollo from Interior.
Dr. Oburu, alongside Deputy Party Leader and Kisii Governor Simba Arati and Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir opposed the ploy, accusing the Wanga group of focusing on petty issues.
Dr. Oburu is said to have insisted the unity of the Luo community is as important as the unity of the ODM Party, warning that removal of the Interior PS through instigation by senior ODM Party officials would backfire on the party.
According to Oburu, there is no serious justification that has been placed forward to remove the Interior PS from office at a time his department is engaged in a number of administrative delimitations in the region.
Wanga accuses the PS of supporting Independent candidate Philip Aroko in the just concluded by-election in Kasipul which ODM won.
