Raila Junior Reunites With Hummer Donor in Bondo, Recalls 2007 Campaign Memories

Raila Odinga Junior has reunited with Kisii business tycoon Don Bosco Gichana, the man who gifted his late father a Hummer during the 2007 presidential campaigns, in a meeting at Kang’o ka Jaramogi in Bondo.

Junior captured the encounter with the caption “The Hummer and the Gifter” after meeting Gichana during the first memorial of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Gichana made headlines in 2007 when he donated the Hummer to Raila Odinga as the ODM leader campaigned for the presidency, making the vehicle part of the memories associated with his political journey.

The Hummer has since been renovated by Junior, bringing the old campaign machine back into focus nearly two decades after it became associated with his father’s presidential ambitions.

The Bondo encounter comes as Junior prepares for a possible bid for the Kibra parliamentary seat, placing renewed attention on his political ambitions and the legacy of a father who commanded a formidable following across the country.
