Exactly a week after visiting ODM Raila Odinga at his home in Karen, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi held a five-hour meeting with One Kenya Alliance leaders Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Moses Wetangula. The meeting was not only an evaluation of the new outfit’s performance a month after inception, but also to plot their next move.

According to multiple sources, Senator Gideon Moi told his fellow principles they risk running into a political irrelevance, if they do not join hands with ODM leader Raila Odinga. Those behind formation of the One Kenya Alliance had hoped to isolate Raila Odinga and force him back to the negotiating table while at a disadvantaged position.

”His message was very blunt. They lack a national clout and are very weak politically. He told the three to ensure they join hands with Raila before it is too late,” a source confided to this writer.

Among the four leaders, Senator Moi is seen as an ally of Raila Odinga who is believed to be keeping his fellow principals close, and at the right time, he will take them back under the ODM leader.

Last week, Raila the KANU leader and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s brother Muhoho Kenyatta in Karen, where they discussed the need to build a political alliance ahead of 2022.
